Ganpati Guidance: The Immersion Process
Our shadu maati Ganesha is made to complete its journey gracefully. Unlike Plaster of Paris, natural clay dissolves safely in water over a few hours.
To immerse at home, place the idol in a clean bucket or tub of tap water. Once the clay has fully dissolved, the nutrient-rich water can be poured onto your garden or houseplants.
Please do not immerse in a river, canal, lake or the sea. In the UK, depositing solid matter in open water is regulated and there is no religious exemption; lawful immersion happens only at organised events holding the appropriate permits.
