Mirror-Work Chaniya Choli — Aubergine & Multicolour

Deep aubergine gives this chaniya choli its dramatic foundation. The skirt stays beautifully plain and gathered through the body, allowing the craftsmanship at the hem to take centre stage. A wide procession of upright panels in yellow, black, red, navy and mint circles the skirt, each decorated with an oversized paisley and a fan of densely worked mirrors. Slender embroidered strips separate the colours, while tiny white bead drops add a delicate shimmer and movement with every step.

The choli is every bit as detailed. Its yoke is covered from edge to edge in banded rows of multicolour embroidery and mirror work, finished with a scalloped, beaded edge that catches the light. Heavily embroidered cuffs continue the richness of the design, balanced by ivory sleeves scattered with small motifs.
